Black Sun
This work explores my fascination on a variety of themes and subjects, both bright and black. These are mortality, sorrow, and the idea of beauty. i work in jewellery because it is has the capacity to be decorative and commemorative. It holds memories as an heirloom and is also a canvas, a space for strange ideas and stories to be shared. Allegory and narrative are tools to communicate, often incorporating familiar images and objects. I juxtapose different materials- precious metals, resin, plastics, hair, found objects and tableware – I have a liberal palette to draw from and this fuels my work.
